Shifts Available: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM

As a Surgical Physician Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive care to surgical patients, collaborating closely with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. Key Responsibilities:

Assist surgeons in the operating room by performing surgical procedures, suturing incisions, and providing perioperative care to patients.
Evaluate and assess patients preoperatively, obtaining medical histories, performing physical examinations, and ordering diagnostic tests as necessary.
Educate patients and their families about surgical procedures, postoperative care instructions, and potential complications.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring continuity of care throughout the surgical process.
Monitor patient vital signs, administer medications, and provide wound care in accordance with established protocols and standards of practice.
Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and thoroughly in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and best practices in surgical care.

Certifications Required:

National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) certification.
Current state licensure as a Physician Assistant in California.
Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.

Qualifications:

Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
Minimum of 2 years of surgical experience, preferably in a hospital setting.
Strong surgical skills and knowledge of surgical procedures and techniques.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends.
