Shifts Available: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM

As a Surgical Physician Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive care to surgical patients, collaborating closely with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. Key Responsibilities:

• Assist surgeons in the operating room by performing surgical procedures, suturing incisions, and providing perioperative care to patients.
• Evaluate and assess patients preoperatively, obtaining medical histories, performing physical examinations, and ordering diagnostic tests as necessary.
• Educate patients and their families about surgical procedures, postoperative care instructions, and potential complications.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring continuity of care throughout the surgical process.
• Monitor patient vital signs, administer medications, and provide wound care in accordance with established protocols and standards of practice.
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and thoroughly in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and best practices in surgical care.

Certifications Required:

• National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) certification.
• Current state licensure as a Physician Assistant in California.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.

Qualifications:

• Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Minimum of 2 years of surgical experience, preferably in a hospital setting.
• Strong surgical skills and knowledge of surgical procedures and techniques.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends.
